Cubans in Jamaica called for eliminating the blockade "virus".

Kingston, Jamaica, 26 April 2020. Several members of the "Antonio Maceo Grajales" Association of Cuban Residents in Jamaica (ACRJ) joined this weekend in the international campaign ‘Eliminate the blockade, it's also a virus!’ which conveyed the world’s call for the elimination of this unjust policy imposed by the US government on the Cuban people six decades ago.

Osvaldo Cárdenas, ACRJ vice president; Guillermo Torres, a member of the association’s board, and his wife, Graciela Ochoa, recorded short videos expressing their rejection of this cruel policy, especially aggressive and harmful in the current context of confronting the Covid-19 pandemic. Their voices joined those of several Jamaican solidarity organizations that also publicly reaffirmed their support for the just cause of Cuba.

Cubadebate reported that this weekend multiple public spaces in different countries echoed the international rejection of the blockade. The demonstrations in support of Cuba were carried out through walks and caravans of cars and bicycles in more than 100 cities in America, Europe, Asia, Africa and Oceania. From the US, marches were confirmed in more than 20 cities, including San Francisco, Sacramento, Oakland (west); Seattle (northwest); Minneapolis, Indianapolis (downtown); New York, Washington, Detroit, Chicago (northeast); Miami, Tampa (southeast); Los Angeles, San Diego and Las Vegas (southwest).
