Cuba and South Africa hold virtual exchange in greeting to the 27th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations

Pretoria, June 3rd, 2021.- The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, and the Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of the Republic of South Africa, Her Excellency Dr. Naledi Pandor, held a virtual exchange on Thursday at the framework of the excellent relations that both nations share.

In the fraternal exchange, both Minister of Foreign Affairs highlighted the excellent state of bilateral relations, whose 27th anniversary was celebrated on May 11, and addressed issues of common interest. At the same time, they ratified their intention to continue expanding and diversifying the collaboration between both nations.

The Cuban foreign minister thanked South Africa for its support in the fight against the blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba, also expressed in the resolution of the XXXIV Summit of Heads of State and Government of the African Union on the end of this policy. For her part, the South African Minister referred to the close historical ties of friendship and cooperation that unite our countries. Likewise, she highlighted the solidarity work of Cuba, as an example for the world, within the framework of the confrontation with the Covid-19 pandemic.
