On the new imperialist provocation against Cuba
The Greek-Cuban Association of Friendship and Solidarity of Thessaloniki unequivocally denounces and condemns the new, orchestrated by the USA, counterrevolutionary action against Cuba that has taken place during the last hours.
Once more, the U.S. government, in collaboration with the anti-Cuban mafia of Miami and counterrevolutionary elements in Cuba, attempts to create a situation of destabilization in the island of the Revolution with the aim of overthrowing the government. We have seen this play before. The U.S. stage demonstrations of paid “dissidents”, they shamelessly lie about supposed “rights abuse” and exploit existing problems that their long-time blockade has created, in order to cause internal turmoil, while they even call for an imperialist “humanitarian intervention”! The U.S. and their miserable puppets try to present this filthy counterrevolutionary circus as a supposed "humanitarian crisis" and "uprising" thus distorting fully the actual events.
The imperialist propaganda attempts to present the shortcomings that Cuba faces as a result of the Cuban government's policy. The reality is that the basic factor behind the problems is the barbaric and genocidal economic, trade and financial blockade imposed for 60 years by all the U.S. governments. In this blockade, 242 additional measures were imposed against Cuba by the Trump government and these measures are still implemented today by Joe Biden's administration.
It is once more proven that, either with Democratic or Republican president, the criminal imperialist policy of the USA against the island of the Revolution does not change. The argument about the “Democratic Biden” who would supposedly bring positive developments in the U.S. foreign policy has been utterly collapsed.
The provocative aggressive actions against Cuba also prove the fear of the imperialists for everything that the Cuban Revolution symbolizes years now, for Cuba's internationalist activity, for the immense achievements of her people and of socialist construction. These achievements were illuminated during the pandemic, when the small Cuba of 11 million inhabitants managed, in conditions of blockade, to create five vaccines and to send medical aid to almost 40 countries.
The Greek-Cuban Association of Friendship and Solidarity of Thessaloniki expresses its full solidarity to the people and the government of Cuba. The imperialists must be assured that any attempt against Cuba will have the fate of the invasion in the Bay of Pigs 60 years ago, when the U.S. and their mercenaries were defeated and humiliated!
We call the working people, the youth, the people of our city and broader of northern Greece to condemn the U.S. imperialist plans against Cuba and to stand by the side of the Cuban people and the Cuban Revolution.
Cuba is not alone, the new provocations shall not pass!
With the people's solidarity, Cuba will win!
