Dr. Douglas Slater, Director of Humanitarian Development of CARICOM, received the Ambassador of Cuba, Narciso Reinaldo Amador Socorro, on the premises of the Secretariat, on a visit of collaboration and solidarity with the member countries of this important organization, which yet on December 8 reaches to 50 years of CARICOM-CUBA relations.
Among the topics addressed, emphasis was placed on Cuba's solidarity gesture of donating vaccines against Covid-19 to CARICOM member states that need them, as well as giving continuity to the project of the Special Center for children, adolescents, and young people with special needs or disabilities in the region, which began in Guyana with Cuban specialists in charge of training qualified personnel in this area and was interrupted by the Covid-19.
The meeting took place in an affable atmosphere of friendship and cooperation.
