Statement by His Excellency Mr. Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba, at the General Debate of the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly. New York, September 27, 2025

Harare, May 29, 2025 – The Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Her Excellency Ms. Susellys Pérez Mesa, reiterated today historic cuban position of support for the Palestinian people during a fraternal meeting with her counterpart from that country, His Excellency Dr. Tamer Almassri. The diplomat reaffirmed firm condemnation of the genocide committed by Israel with the support of the United States and other countries. Pérez Mesa highlighted Cuba's strengthened position at the highest political and social levels against this atrocity.
On Wednesday, 22 May, the South London Group of the Cuba Solidarity Campaign hosted a powerful evening of reflection, resistance, and revolutionary culture at SET Social in Peckham. Entitled Viva Cuba! Viva Palestina!, the event brought together members of the local community, solidarity activists, and representatives of the Cuban and Palestinian peoples to explore over eight decades of shared anti-imperialist struggle.
The Group welcomes the SG report on “Economic and social repercussions of the Israeli occupation on the living conditions of the Palestinian people in the occupied Palestinian territory, including East Jerusalem, and of the Arab population in the occupied Syrian Golan”, contained in document (A/78/127–E/2023/95), which highlights the detrimental effect of the protracted Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territory and the Syrian Golan on the living conditions of the Palestinian and Syrian populations, as well as on social and economic development in the occupied territories.
The Revolutionary Government of the Republic of Cuba vehemently condemns the criminal attack on the defenseless Palestinian population in the Gaza Strip, by the Israeli Army which has killed at least 52 people and left over 2,400 injured.
This act constitutes another serious and flagrant violation of the UN Charter and international humanitarian law, and a new outrage against the Palestinian people.
