Cuban Ambassador is received by the Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis

Basseterre, January 16, 2026—On Thursday afternoon, the Honorable Dr. Terrance Drew, Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, received Giuvel Orozco Ortega, Cuba's ambassador to the Caribbean island, at the Government Headquarters.

During the cordial meeting, they discussed the good state of bilateral relations and the bonds of brotherhood that unite both natios, as well as the willingness to continue expanding exchanges and cooperative relations in areas of mutual interest.

Young Labour executives visit the Cuban Embassy in Saint Kitts and Nevis

We received members of the Young Labour executive at our diplomatic headquarters, with whom we had a pleasant and fruitful exchange. This organization, which constitutes the youth arm of the Labour Party of this Federation, was represented during the meeting by Rasheem Hopkins, Tanessa Charles, Kashema Gumbs and Alaric Arache, who were updated by Ambassador David Rivero on some topics of interest such as the economic situation in Cuba and the impact of the blockade imposed by the United States.

Minister Maynard meets with Ambassador of Cuba to Saint Kitts and Nevis

The Honourable Minister Konris Maynard, in charge of the portfolios of Public Infrastructure and Utilities, Transport, Information, Communication and Technology and Post, met this morning with the ambassador of Cuba to Saint Kitts and Nevis, David Rivero Pérez, on a work visit. During the meeting, both parties highlighted the good state of the historical links that unite their countries and the willingness to continue strengthening them. In this sense, possible new avenues of Cuban cooperation were evaluated.
