Hanoi deepens partnership with Cuba localities

Hanoi prioritizes developing the friendship with Havana and Cuba’s localities, focusing on enhancing people-to-people exchanges. Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Bui Thi Minh Hoai said at the meeting on March 13 with Cuban Ambassador to Vietnam Rogelio Polanco Fuentes with the attendance of Head of the Hanoi Party Committee’s Organization Commission Ha Minh Hai and Deputy Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen.

Specific moves will be implementing the 2023-2028 cooperation agreement, strengthening Party cooperation, exchanging delegations at various levels, and promoting collaboration in healthcare, trade, agriculture, food, and culture.

Hanoi donates 2,000 tons of rice to Havana

Hanoi donated Friday 2,000 tons of rice to Havana in the presence of top party leaders Dinh Tien Dung and Luis Antonio Torres Iribar, respectively. The ceremony to deliver the donation, signed by Cuban Ambassador to Vietnam, Orlando Hernandez Guillen, took place after Tien Dung and Torres Iribar signed a cooperation agreement between the Provincial Committees of the Communist Parties of Vietnam (CPV) and Cuba (PCC).

Hanoi seeks stronger cooperation with Havana

Hanoi wants to expand and promote its comprehensive cooperation with the Cuban capital city of Havana, especially in the exchange of experience in the Party building work, Politburo member and Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Dinh Tien Dung said on June 9.

At his talks with First Secretary of the Havana Party Committee Luis Antonio Torres Iríbar, who is on a Vietnam visit from June 5-15, Dung noted with pleasure the fruitful development of the relations between the two Parties and countries over the past years.

Hanoi, La Habana to ink partnership deals

The Party Committees of Hanoi and La Habana expect to ratify a partnership agreement for the next five years, said Nguyen Thi Tuyen, deputy secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, and Cuban Ambassador Orlando Nicolás Hernández Guillén at a meeting on June 1. The two sides will also agree on other cooperation activities, said Nguyen Thi Tuyen, Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, when discussing the agenda of the upcoming visit of the First Secretary of the Havana Party Committee.

First official Habanos store opened in Hanoi

The first official Habanos store in the Vietnamese capital opened in a central neighborhood of Hanoi to offer local and foreign smokers several of the most prestigious Cuban cigar brands.

Habanos Specialist, the second establishment of this type inaugurated in Vietnam, is already selling Cohiba, Montecristo, Partagás, Romeo and Julieta, H. Upmann, and other kind of tobacco, in a place located in the cultural center of Hanoi, decorated to recreate the tradition of elaboration, conservation and consumption of the best cigars in the world.

Embassy attends a ceremony in the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Hospital

The Embassy of Cuba attended a ceremony  where the Labor Order, third degree, was conferred to the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Hospital, an institution of the capital city that this year is half a century old.

Dang Thi Ngoc Tinh, vice president of the Indo-Chinese country, awarded the Hospital whit the Order, conferred by the Vietnamese State, in recognition of the work of aa hospital that has become a provincial reference center in the specialties of otolaryngology and dentistry.

Second meeting of resident Cubans was held in Hanoi

The Cuban Embassy in Hanoi hosted on December 14 the second meeting of Cuban residents, with the presence of the nationals living in the northern half of Vietnam.

On this occasion, the Cuban ambassador in the Indo-Chinese country, Lianys Torres Rivera, reviewed the relevant political events that took place in the country in 2019, such as the approval of a new Constitution with broad popular support, the election of the President and the Vice President of the Republic, as well as the President of the National Assembly.

Hanoi dances to the rhythm of Compay Segundo

To the rhythm of classics of the Cuban pentagram such as Guantanamera, Negra Tomasa, and Chan Chan, hundreds of people enjoyed the Compay Segundo group´s first concert  in the Vietnamese capital.

The Salsa Night Fever show brought the exclusivity of a symbol of traditional Cuban music to the multinational public who attended the Hanoi Youth Theater, including Vietnam fans, foreign tourists, Vietnamese graduated in Cuba, cooperators from the Caribbean country, and Cubans residents in this city.

Present Cuba in Marathon for Peace held in Hanoi

This September 29, the Cuban Embassy participated in the 46th edition of the Marathon for Peace, organized by the Popular Committee of the capital city, the  Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations, and Hanoi Moi newspaper.

During the pre-competition ceremony, the Organizing Committee of the event highlighted the Embassy of Cuba outstanding participation  in these annual competitions.
