US professors’ union asks Biden to lift blockade against Cuba

One of the largest university professors' unions in the United States on Monday asked President Joe Biden to lift the "devastating financial and commercial blockade" imposed on Cuba for more than 60 years.

The Professional Staff Congress (PSC) of the City University of New York (CUNY), affiliated to the American Federation of Teachers, passed a resolution urging Biden to lift the coercive measures against Cuba, which were tightened during the Donald Trump administration(2017-2021).

The traditional scenario of the VolksstimmeFest, annually organized by the Communist Party of Austria (KPÖ, by its German initials); held from 31 August to 1 September in Vienna, was an appropriate occasion to denounce the illegal economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by US against Cuba and its tightening by President Trump Administration.

The International Community once again demands the end of the Blockade against Cuba

The UN General Assembly almost unanimously adopted this Wednesday, 1 November for the twenty-sixth consecutive year, the resolution demanding the lifting of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by United States against Cuba for almost 60 years.

The resolution was adopted by 191 votes in favor, 2 votes against, and 0 abstentions. The United Nations has 193 Member States.
