We, the Heads of State and Government of the Caribbean Community and the Republic of Cuba, meeting in St. Mary’s, Antigua and Barbuda, on 8 December 2017, on the occasion of the Sixth CARICOM-Cuba Summit and in commemoration of the forty-fifth anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations among the independent states of CARICOM and Cuba and the fifteenth anniversary of CARICOM-Cuba Day.

Damage caused by the U.S. blockade to education in Cuba

The efforts and political will of the Cuban state to continue to provide free and universal education to the people are laudable, above all given the limitations it faces as a result of the economic, commercial and financial blockade unilaterally imposed by the United States on the island for over five decades.

Caracas, December 14, 2025. - We, the Heads of State and Government of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America – Peoples' Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP), gathered on December 14, 2025, inspired by the example of revolutionary dignity and unwavering defense of sovereignty of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, on the occasion of the commemoration of the centenary of his birth in 2026, on the eve of the Bicentennial of the Amphictyonic Congress of Panama, and in a context of growing threats to the peace and stability of Latin America and the Caribbean:

We honor the history and legacy of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, founding precursor of the organization, together with the Bolivarian leader, Hugo Chávez Frías, and great architect of the dreams of José Martí for the Cuban, Latin American, and Caribbean peoples.

Cuba Expresses Its Support for the New Director-General of UNESCO During His Investiture Ceremony

Samarkand, 11 November – Within the framework of the 43rd General Conference of UNESCO, the investiture ceremony of Dr. Khaled Ahmed El-Enany, the new Director-General of the Organization, was held this Wednesday. Dr. El-Enany took the oath of office and delivered his inaugural address.

In his remarks, the former Egyptian Minister of Tourism and Antiquities conveyed a message of gratitude to his country for the confidence placed in him, as well as to the Arab Group, the African Group, and all Member States that trusted his vision and priorities for the future of the Organization.
