Cubanos in UK Condemns Terrorist Attack on Cuban Embassy in US

The association Cubanos en UK rejects and strongly condemns the terrorist attack on the Cuban Embassy in the United States.

In the early hours of this Thursday 30 April 2020, an unknown individual shot at the Cuban Embassy premises with a firearm. Although the identity of the individual and his motivations are unknown, our association rejects any violent act against Cuban representatives abroad.

British Ambassador condemns aggression against Cuban diplomatic headquarters

The Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Cuba, Antony Stokes, condemned today the aggression against the island's embassy in the United States.

On his Twitter account, the British representative in Havana said he rejected any act of violence against a diplomatic premise and expressed relief that no damage was caused to the Cuban mission staff in Washington D.C.

In the early hours of April 30, an individual shot at the Cuban headquarters building in the U.S. capital, with no injuries reported.

Cuban doctors recommended for Nobel Prize in recognition of coronavirus efforts

CUBA’S medical mission has been recommended for this year’s Nobel Peace Prize in recognition of its efforts in the fight against the global Covid-19 pandemic.

French solidarity organisation Cuba Linda has called for the award to be given to the Cuban Henry Reeve Medical Brigade which has deployed health workers to more than 20 countries affected by the virus.

Over £20,000 raised in the United Kingdom to help Cuba in the fight against COVID-19

More than 20 thousand sterling pounds (around 25 thousand dollars) have been raised until this Monday by the Cuba Solidarity Campaign (CSC) in the United Kingdom, to help the Caribbean island fight the COVID-19 pandemic.

"On behalf of the CSC, I want to thank all those who responded so quickly to the emergency appeal," said the director of the Campaign, Rob Miller,  on Monday in a statement denouncing the impact of the US blockade against the Antillean country.

Coronavirus: Cuban doctors go to South Africa

More than 200 doctors from Cuba are due to arrive in South Africa to help fight coronavirus.

The medics left on a plane that first carried a donation of South African medical supplies to the Caribbean island, its embassy in Pretoria said.

They are among 1,200 healthcare workers sent to battle Covid-19 in 22 countries that have requested help from the communist state.

South Africa is to begin easing strict lockdown restrictions next month.
