Cuba and Chicago advance project of cooperation on healthcare
On September 8, a symposium was held in the University Club of Chicago to exchange innovative approaches that may contribute to the decrease of infant mortality rate. Cuba was represented in this event by the experts José Armando Arronte, Sonia González, Berta Bello and Némesis Pérez; who alongside the Ambassador of Cuba to the United States, José Ramón Cabañas Rodríguez, talked about the achievements of our country in this field.

On June 16th, 2017, the President of the United States, Donald Trump, in a speech full of hostile rhetoric given at a theater in Miami, which reminded the times of open confrontation with our country, announced the policy of his government towards Cuba which reverts the progress achieved in the past two years, after that on December 17th, 2014 the presidents Raúl Castro Ruz and Barack Obama made public the decision to reestablish diplomatic relations and start a process towards the normalization of bilateral ties.

The Embassy of Cuba in the United States hosted on June 9th, an event organized by the US organizations of former and current chiefs of staff of the US House of Representatives, two bipartisan not-for profit organizations intended to promote the professional development and to create opportunities for the establishment of relations among their members.
