On January 15, 2022, the organizations Puentes de Amor, The People's Forum and CODEPINK sent a cargo plane loaded with 15,000 pounds of powdered milk from Miami to Cuba. Representatives of the organizations travel to Cuba with the shipment. The aid will be received by the Martin Luther King Center in Havana. It will be distributed to pediatric hospitals in Havana.

Cuba mourns the death of outstanding solidarity activist
The First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, posted a message on Twitter lamentingthe death of the tireless Argentine social activist Alicia Jrapko, who devoted her life to the struggle to win justice for her disappeared comrades in her native country, the return of Elián to Cuba, the release of the Cuban Five and an end to the blockade.
Díaz-Canel concluded his note with an “Hasta siempre, hermana,” indicating that the country’s “sister” would never be forgotten.
Cuba updates sanitary protocol in view of Omicron´s advance

Updating of preventive medication management, therapeutic treatment and admission protocols, was announced today in Cuba in view of the advance of the Omicron variant of the Sars-Cov-2, the cause of Covid-19.
According to a local television report, in a regular meeting of the government´s working group for the treatment and control of the disease, the increase in the number of positive cases was analyzed, amounting to 10, 934 only in the first week of January.
