Cuban newspaper launches special sub-web marking 65 years of Vietnam-Cuba ties

Granma, the official newspaper of the Communist Party of Cuba, has launched a special sub-web featuring rare images and archival materials celebrating the special solidarity between Vietnam and Cuba, which mark the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations this year (December 2, 1960 – 2025).

Released in the same year that Granma celebrates the 60th anniversary since its first issue (October 4, 1965), the sub-web is more than just an archive, it is a visual chronicle of a historic brotherhood. Among its highlights are iconic moments such as Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro’s famous declaration: “For Vietnam, Cuba is willing to shed its blood,” President Ho Chi Minh’s warm reception of the first Cuban delegation on its official visit to Vietnam, and the sugar-laden ships from Cuba arriving at Hai Phong port.

Vietnam attends 4th International Colloquium Patria in Havana

Vietnamese representatives attended the 4th International Colloquium Patria that opened in the Cuban capital of Havana on March 17. The event saw the participation of First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee and President of Cuba Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, along with numerous Cuban officials and international delegates.

It brought together over 400 guests from 47 countries, including politicians, scholars, media professionals, activists, and those interested in the seminar's discussed topics.

Hanoi deepens partnership with Cuba localities

Hanoi prioritizes developing the friendship with Havana and Cuba’s localities, focusing on enhancing people-to-people exchanges. Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Bui Thi Minh Hoai said at the meeting on March 13 with Cuban Ambassador to Vietnam Rogelio Polanco Fuentes with the attendance of Head of the Hanoi Party Committee’s Organization Commission Ha Minh Hai and Deputy Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen.

Specific moves will be implementing the 2023-2028 cooperation agreement, strengthening Party cooperation, exchanging delegations at various levels, and promoting collaboration in healthcare, trade, agriculture, food, and culture.

Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee received Ambassador Rogelio Polanco

During his official visit and working trip to Ho Chi Minh City, Ambassador Rogelio Polanco Fuentes of the Republic of Cuba to Vietnam, was received by Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Thanh Nghi.

At the meeting yesterday afternoon, representing the city's leadership, Nguyen Thanh Nghi engaged in discussions with the Cuban Ambassador regarding key areas of cooperation between the two nations. The dialogue encompassed the implementation of significant projects agreed upon following General Secretary To Lam's visit to Cuba in September 2024.

Provincial Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Loi welcomes Cuban Ambassador Rogelio Polanco

Comrade Nguyen Van Loi, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee and Head of provincial National Assembly Deputy Delegation chaired a meeting to welcome comrade Rogelio Polanco Fuentes, Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to Vietnam, on his courtesy visit to Binh Duong’s leaders. The meeting was also attended by comrade Bui Minh Tri, Vice Chairman of provincial People's Committee and leaders of relevant departments and agencies.

At the reception, comrade Nguyen Van Loi expressed his honor in welcoming the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to Vietnam.
