Cuba won’t betray principles in exchange for US promises – govt
By the Mast, 12 June 2019. CUBA has told the US that betrayal is not an option for the communist island which has already struggled for 150 years for its independence. Havana also charges that President Donald Trump’s national security advisor John Bolton has managed to take possession of US foreign policy in the Western Hemisphere, which “constitutes the main threat to peace and stability in the entire region.”
In a declaration dated June 5, 2019, the Revolutionary government stressed that Cuba’s solidarity with Venezuela’s constitutional President Nicolás Maduro Moros, the Bolivarian Chavista Revolution, and the civic-military union of its people is not negotiable.

The activation of Title III of the Helms-Burton law by the current president of the United States is absurd both in its nature and intentions. Any action (legal or otherwise) that is meant to intimidate the economic partners of the Cuban people is wrong and immoral.
US won’t suffocate, stop us – Cuba
By The Mast, Larry Moonze on June 7, 2019. CUBAN President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez says new US sanctions will not intimidate or suffocate the communist island.
On Tuesday, the US departments of Treasury and Commerce added sanctions announced on April 17, and the activation of Title III of the Helms-Burton Act, the prohibition of “people to people” cultural and educational trips, plus other restrictions on travel and transportation services, remittances, banking, commerce, and telecommunications. Reacting to the move via Twitter, President Díaz-Canel noted that the US government of Donald Trump was keeping its “perverse efforts to crush Cuba” with new measures intensifying the blockade which violates international law.
