Rome, November 3, 2023 - The 33rd General Assembly of the International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM) holds on November 2 and 3 at FAO under the theme "Cultural Heritage and Migration".
Cuba has been a member of this intergovernmental organization since 1971 and arrives at this event with a delegation headed by the Cuban Ambassador to Italy and Permanent Representative to the international organizations based in Rome, Mirta Granda Averhoff. Aimee Mansur Luzardo of the National Council of Cultural Heritage, an entity belonging to the Ministry of Culture, governing body for ICCROM issues, and Gabriela Gámez Granda, third secretary of the diplomatic mission, also attend the meeting.
Among the objectives to be achieved is the request for Spanish to be accepted as one of the official languages of the Organization, an initiative promoted by the Ibero-American States. In addition, the new Director General and the members of the Council will be elected, as well as the future programs of the Centre, which will help determine ICCROM's future strategic path.
