Addis Ababa, June 13, 2018. The Cuban Ambassador to Ethiopia, H.E. Mrs. Vilma Thomas was interviewed by journalist Richard Ruiz Julién of Prensa Latina News Agency on the bilateral relations between Cuba and Ethiopia.
The Ambassador highlighted the appreciation of the Ethiopian authorities for the assistance and friendship of the Cubans to this country. She confirmed that our cooperation goes beyond the diplomatica representation in both capitals. Apart of the current exchanges in health and education, we are negociating some new government Agreements and a contract for the manufacturing of human vaccines.
This year we will clebrate the 40th anniversary of the arrival to Cuba of the first group of estudents from Ethiopia. Since that moment, close to 5 000 Ethiopians have graduated from Cuban schools and universities.
The head of the Cuban diplomatic mission concluded that Cuba have been giving solidarity to Ethiopia but also received a lot of support from this country, particularly in the international arena against the blockade.
