Cuban Ambassador meets with the Prime Minister of Niue

Wellington, 8 August 2025 — On the occasion of the celebrations marking the 60th anniversary of the independence of the Cook Islands in free association with New Zealand, the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to Niue, Luis Ernesto Morejón Rodríguez, held a cordial meeting with Hon. Dalton Tagelagi, Prime Minister of Niue, to whom he had presented his credentials last year in Wellington.

 

During the conversation, both parties reaffirmed their interest in strengthening the bonds of cooperation and friendship between Cuba and Niue. Ambassador Morejón Rodríguez confirmed his commitment to participate in the celebrations for the 51st anniversary of Niue’s independence, to be held on 19 October on the Pacific island.
