Cuban president meets with Vietnamese businessmen

Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel met with Vietnamese executives and businessmen from the Thai Binh group, the Presidency reported today.

In this context, the parties evaluated potential opportunities to strengthen business ties, which have been maintained for more than 25 years in key areas of economic and social development, the publication stated.

The Vietnamese consortium Thai Binh has more than 300 suppliers worldwide, 12 product lines, two factories, and a 20-megawatt solar energy park in the Mariel Special Development Zone.

One of its companies, opened on November 19, 2019, by Thai Binh Global Investment Corporation, produces disposable diapers and tampons in Cuba. It also launched a line of wet wipes for the domestic market in June 2021.

The Caribe chain of stores, the CIMEX Corporation, and the Caracol Commercial Company are Thai Binh's main clients, although the company also exports its products to Latin America and the Caribbean.
