The Macedonian-Cuban Association MACUBA, which for more than fifteen years has worked to strengthen friendship, cooperation, and solidarity between the peoples of North Macedonia and Cuba, expresses its unwavering support for the Cuban people in these difficult times.
We strongly condemn the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed on Cuba by the United States, a policy that has lasted for decades and continues to inflict serious humanitarian, economic, and social consequences on the Cuban population. This blockade affects the daily lives of millions of Cuban citizens, restricting access to essential resources, medicines, technology, financial services, and opportunities for development.
We reiterate our support for the repeated calls of the international community, reflected in numerous resolutions adopted by the United Nations General Assembly, demanding an end to this unilateral policy and respect for Cuba's sovereignty and right to determine its own future.
MACUBA also expresses concern regarding recent measures and accusations directed against Cuban political leaders, including General Raúl Castro. We oppose actions that seek to increase tensions, political pressure, or isolation instead of promoting dialogue, mutual respect, and peaceful international relations. Allegations and accusations should be addressed in accordance with international law, due process, and respect for national sovereignty.
The Cuban people have demonstrated remarkable resilience, dignity, and determination in the face of extraordinary challenges. We stand in solidarity with their right to live in peace, pursue economic development, and preserve their national independence without external coercion.
We call upon governments, institutions, civil society organizations, and all people of goodwill to support efforts aimed at ending the blockade, strengthening international cooperation, and promoting friendship and mutual understanding among nations.
The Macedonian-Cuban Association MACUBA reaffirms its commitment to solidarity, peace, justice, and respect for the sovereign equality of all states.
