Nassau, March 7th , 2023. The Cuban ambassador to the Bahamas, Julio César González Marchante met with Ms. Rhoda Mae Jackson, Director General of the Foreign Ministry of The Bahamas to discuss issues of common interest in order to continue strengthening the bilateral relationship.
The cordial meeting confirmed the high level of exchange reached between the two countries and the good state of collaboration in areas such as education and health, as well as the prospect of expanding it to other sectors, including the environment and sport.
Likewise, the mutual agreement was expressed to work jointly in regional and multilateral organizations at a time when The Bahamas is president pro tempore of the Caribbean Community CARICOM and Cuba is at the head of the Group of 77 plus China.
The Cuban diplomat reiterated Cuba's commitment and willingness to move forward in strengthening ties between the two countries and thanked the presence of the Director of the Americas and two other officials from the local Foreign Ministry.
