Chattisgarh, January 10, 2025- During the recent edition of India International Rice Summit, Cuba was represented by the Second Secretary of the Embassy of Cuba in India, Guadalupe Frometa, at the forum that promoted exchanges with producers and exporters ofbasmati from India. For two days, trends in demand for the different varieties of non-basmati rice on the international market, production technologies, supply chains, new regional markets and opportunities for collaboration were discussed.
The Second Secretary held meetings with representatives of several companies represented at the conclave: producers, logistics chains, infrastructure, exporters and investors. During her speech at the forum, the Cuban diplomat highlighted the potential existing in the Latin American market, particularly the possibilities that Cuba offers to connect with the different countries of the Caribbean and Central America, due to its privileged geographical position. The opportunity was propitious to invite investors present at the event to work, together with the Cuban Embassy in New Delhi, in identifying projects and opportunities to establish partnership agreements with the Caribbean nation.
