This day continues to Vietnam, the Hero of the Republic of Cuba, Fernando González LLort, President of ICAP and newly elected Deputy to our National Assembly of People's Power, who remained in the Lao People's Democratic Republic, since last April 5.
The delegation of ICAP, also integrated by Comrade Yanet Martínez, an officer of the Asia and Oceania Divition of this Institute, fulfilled a tight schedule. He was received by the Minister of the Office of the Prime Minister, member of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (CC PPRL), parliamentarian and President of the Lao-Cuba Friendship Association, Prof. Dr. Chaleun Yiapaoher; the Vice President of the Lao National Assembly, Mr. Somphanh Phengkhammy; the President of the Foreign Relations Committee of the CC PPRL and member of the Committee, Comrade, Sounthone Xayachak; the member of the Politburo of the CC PPRL and President of the Lao Front for National Development, Dr. Xaysomphone Phomvihane; and the First Secretary of the Youth Union of the Lao Revolutionary People, member of the CC PPRL and parliamentarian, Comrade, Alounsay Sounalad.
The Delegation also visited the province of Luang Pravanh, whose capital was declared by UNESCO a World Heritage Site, where the delegation was received, among others, by its Governor.
These meetings served to reaffirm the solidarity of the people, Government and Lao Party towards Cuba. Everyone, without exception, recognized Cuba's support for the Lao people, given from their struggle for national liberation to the present day. The Comrade Fernando, for his part, thanked everyone on his behalf and the other four Heroes and their families for the support and solidarity offered by the Government, Party and people of Laos to the cause of the liberation of the Five.
The Program also included visits to historical-cultural places and a keynote lecture given by the Comrade González LLort in the Academy on Politics and Public Administration with the participation of more than 400 people.
In the meetings and visits accompanied the Delegation by the Lao party, the Parliamentarian, Vice President of the Lao Women's Federation and the Lao-Cuba Friendship Association, Mrs. Boundith Prathouvanh. He also did it for the Cuban side, the Ambassador, Pablo Rodríguez Vidal.
