Grenada celebrates 46th anniversary of diplomatic relations with Cuba.

St. George's, April 12 - The 46th anniversary of the bilateral relationship, which began on April 14, 1979, was celebrated at the Cuban Embassy in Grenada, with the presence of Ministers, Parliamentarians, the Permanent Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Ms. Roxie McLeish, and Grenadians who graduated in Cuba. The event took place in an atmosphere of deep gratitude to Cuba for its contribution to the professional training of Grenadians and its invaluable support for public health services on the island. Special remarks were made by the Minister of Agriculture and economics graduate from the University of Camagüey, the Honorable Lennox Andrew, and the Honorable Parliamentarian Clarice Modeste, also a Cuban graduate specializing in medicine.

Cuban Ambassador Ivette Martínez recounted several milestones in the bilateral relationship and emphasized Grenada's historic and unwavering support for Cuba in its request to lift the blockade and remove Cuba from the list of state sponsors of terrorism. She thanked the Foreign Minister and other officials for defending the Cuban doctors serving in Grenada against the ongoing campaign aimed at damaging their image and that of the country.

Dr. Malachy Dottin, coordinator of the Committee of Graduates in Cuba, reiterated the government's and the graduates' commitment to strengthening the unbreakable relationship between the peoples of Cuba and Grenada. "Let's make this relationship a milestone on our shared path toward victory and transformation. Together, we are stronger, and together, we will accelerate the change our people deserve," he added.

It was a night of anecdotes, satisfaction, and gratitude, with Cuban food, dancing, and sharing as Cubans. Also participating were representatives from the Cuban Medical Brigade, Cuban residents, and supportive friends.
