Freetown, February 11, 2026. Norma Sánchez Águila, Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to Sierra Leone, paid a courtesy visit to His Excellency Mr. Baisnab Charan Pradhan, Indian High Commissioner.
The Cuban diplomat thanked High Commissioner Basna Charan Pradhan for the opportunity to hold the meeting and provided him with an update on issues of bilateral interest. In this regard, she thanked India for its historic vote in favor of the Cuban resolution against the blockade at the United Nations General Assembly, as well as for India's role as a key player in Cuba's economic and social development, taking advantage of the new opportunities that will arise during India's Presidency Pro Tempore of the BRICS, with Cuba as an associate country.
For his part, High Commissioner Charan Pradhan expressed his satisfaction with the exchange and praised Cuba's work in the field of medical cooperation around the world, particularly in third world countries.
During the cordial meeting, both parties reaffirmed their historic ties of friendship and respect and their willingness to continue strengthening economic and cooperative ties between the two countries.
