Head of Cuban Diplomatic Mission Receives Courtesy Visit from Delegation from the Hugo Chavez International Friendship for Peace and Solidarity.

Freetown, Februaryt 16, 2026. – At the headquarters of the Cuban Embassy in Sierra Leone, the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba, Norma Sánchez Águila, received a courtesy visit from a delegation from the International Foundation for Peace, Friendship and Solidarity, Hugo Chávez. The delegation was led by Alimamy Bakarr Sankoh, International Executive Director (IED) and President of the Governing Council of the Hugo Chávez International Foundation for Peace, Friendship and Solidarity (HCIF-PFS).

During the cordial meeting, both parties discussed the historical ties of friendship and cooperation that unite the two nations, as well as contributions in sectors such as health and education.

The leaders of the Hugo Chávez International Foundation firmly expressed their unwavering solidarity and love for Cuba, reiterating their unconditional support in the face of the intensification of coercive measures that seek to suffocate the Cuban people. They reaffirmed their willingness to continue defending the truth about Cuba and strengthening the ties of friendship and cooperation between both peoples.

The meeting concluded with a call for international solidarity among all countries and brotherly peoples.
