The Kenya Left Alliance, coalition of more than 40 left-wing Kenyan organizations, hosted an event in solidarity with Cuba, under the theme "Cuba is not a threat, The blockade is”.
The gathering featured keynote remarks from H.E. Ines Fors Fernandez, the Cuban Ambassador to Kenya, alongside a panel of Kenyan organizations and Cuban diplomats.
Representatives of many organizations expressed their unbreakable solidarity with the heroic Cuban people and denounced the relentless economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States and the extraterritorial sanctions against the Caribbean island. The blockade was considered a direct violation of human rights, a massive and flagrant act of aggression. It is the single greatest obstacle to Cuba's development.
The Ukumbi Mdogo at the Kenyan National Theatre was the venue for a dedicated "Solidarity with Cuba" event.
