Vientiane, December 2023. The Embassy of Cuba felt honored with the visit to its headquarters by Dr. Chaleune Yiapahoer, member of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, vice president of the Lao National Assembly (ANL), vice president of the Laos-Cuba Friendship Association and the Laos-Cuba Parliamentary Friendship Committee.
Dr. Yiapahoer was the bearer of his congratulatory message as well as that of the member of the CC of the PPRL and vice president of the ANL and president of the Lao Committee for Peace and Solidarity Sommad Pholsena, on the occasion of the 65th Anniversary of the Triumph of the Cuban Revolution , addressed to the President of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), Fernando Gonzalez Llort. He also expressed that the content of the letters reflected the feelings and commitment of the Party, Government, Parliaments and people of both countries, which ratify the coincidence in the justice of building socialism, developing cooperation and maintaining support for Cuba in its plans for development and against the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States that impedes its development plans. Finally, he alluded to the need to exclude the island from the illegal list of countries that sponsor terrorism.
For her part, the Cuban ambassador Enna Viant Valdés, conveyed her gratitude to the senior leaders for such a selfless gesture and commitment to the unbreakable and lasting friendship that exists between the people of Laos and Cuba. At the same time she delivered the message of gratitude and congratulations for the new year, from the president of ICAP, addressed to the Lao solidarity movement, an important bastion and support for the Cuban Revolution since the first moments of its independence.
Accompanying Dr. Yiapahoer were representatives of the Party, Lao institutions, Cuban collaborators and directors and members of the Lao-Cuba Friendship Association.
The top leaders of the Party, Government and the Lao Ministry of Relations respectively sent messages on the significant date to their respective Cuban counterparts, the first secretary of the PCC and president Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermúdez, the prime minister Manuel Marrero and the Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez. Other mass organizations and institutions including the Lao Front for National Development, the Supreme People's Court and the Prosecutor's Office sent cordial greetings.
