Screening of the film "Inocencia" at the Copenhagen Cinematheque

The screening of the film "Inocencia", by Alejandro Gil, causes a sensitive reception by the public present, on the seventh day of the opening of the Latin American Film Festival at the Cinemateca (Cinemateket) in Copenhagen.

The Cuban Ambassador, Roger López García, in his presentation, stated that the feature film is the most awarded Cuban film at the 40th International Festival of New Latin American Cinema, which is inspired by real events that took place 149 years ago.

He commented that this production pays tribute to the young people of the November 1871 event, when a class of first-year medical students is imprisoned for an act they did not commit, in addition to being shot for false accusations, and that part of the argument of the sample, it is the desire of Fermín Valdés Domínguez to prove the innocence of his companions that would be revealed 16 years after the horrendous crime.

The Cuban diplomat explained the meaning of the date for the new generations of Cubans, all university students, and the people in general, who today mourn every year in front of the monument erected in his memory on the corner of Prado and Malecón.

The Cuban film is the ninth staging that will be repeated on Saturday, September 26 in the same room.

The projection of this film was attended by representatives of the Danish Foreign Ministry, political parties, the Friendship Association, Cubans residents, members of the accredited diplomatic corps, and the Danish public in general, among others.
