Freetown, December 27. The Cuban people staged a heartfelt revolutionary march, the largest in recent times, on December 20 to demand that the U.S. government end the inhuman and cruel economic, commercial and financial blockade and the infamous inclusion of Cuba on the list of countries sponsoring terrorism.
Cuba, which this January 1st will celebrate the 66th anniversary of the revolutionary triumph, has been the victim for more than 60 years of the application by the United States of an economic, commercial and financial blockade and other unilateral coercive measures, which together represent a massive, flagrant and systematic violation of human rights. Added to this is the fraudulent inclusion of Cuba in the spurious list of countries sponsoring terrorism drawn up by the U.S. State Department, which cannot be morally sustained and which only aims to create more harm to the Cuban people.
We as Sierra Leonean students we are very grateful to the people of Cuba and the Revolution because they gave us the opportunity to study in Cuba in various courses and now we are what we are because of the ideologies of Revolution.
The Sierra Leone-Cuba Students Friendship Association calling on all international players to denounce and stand in solidarity with Cuba, and for the lifting of the criminal, economic and financial blockade against Cuba.
