Freetown, August 28, 2025. Norma Sánchez Águila, Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to Sierra Leone, paid a courtesy visit to His Excellency Mr. Hachem Abdelhafid, Ambassador of Algeria to Sierra Leone.
The Cuban diplomat thanked Ambassador Hachem Abdelhafid for the opportunity to meet and provided an update on bilateral issues of interest. In this regard, she expressed her gratitude for Algeria's historic vote in favor of the Cuban resolution against the blockade within the framework of the United Nations General Assembly.
For his part, Ambassador Abdelhafid expressed his satisfaction with the exchange and praised Cuba's work in medical cooperation around the world, primarily in developing countries and especially in his own country.
During the cordial meeting, both parties reaffirmed the historic ties of friendship, respect, and the desire to continue strengthening economic and cooperative ties between the two countries.
