#100Years with Fidel, Cuba-CARICOM Day, and Aid to Eastern Cuba: Key Topics at the Saint Lucia-Cuba Friendship Association Annual Meeting

Castries, November 27, 2025 – Marlene Alexander, President of the Saint Lucia-Cuba Friendship Association, spoke to the press about the agenda for the upcoming meeting of the organization, which will take place in early December in the sister Caribbean island.

Along with a review of the year's work, the election of the board of directors, and other operational matters, the President announced that a tribute will be paid to the eternal Caribbean leader, Fidel Castro Ruz; Cuba-CARICOM Day will be celebrated; and a donation will be presented to the victims of Hurricane Melissa in eastern Cuba.

The Friendship Association celebrated its 20th anniversary in August of this year with a moving political and cultural event. Formerly known as the Saint Lucia-Cuba Humanitarian Association, it has maintained its solidarity and support for the Cuban people for the past two decades.

The fight against the blockade, Cuba's inclusion on the List of State Sponsors of Terrorism, Caribbean integration, and other issues have always been pillars championed by our Saint Lucian brothers and sisters.
