66th Anniversary of the Cuban Revolution Commemorated in Trinidad and Tobago

Port of Spain, January 3rd, 2025. As part of the activities marking the 66th anniversary of the Cuban Revolution, Ambassador Gustavo Véliz Olivares gave statements to Trinidad and Tobago's state television station, TTT.

The local media expressed interest in learning about the achievements of the Cuban Revolution over the past six decades, the 52-year relationship with CARICOM countries, and Cuban medical cooperation in the Caribbean nations.

The diplomat emphasized that Cuba has achieved significant development in various areas of society during these 66 years of the Revolution. He also highlighted the presence of Cuban medical cooperation in the Caribbean, particularly the Cuban Medical Brigade that has been working in Trinidad and Tobago for over two decades, with more than 700 Cuban collaborators providing their services during this time.

He expressed gratitude to the government of Trinidad and Tobago, as well as to Caribbean nations in general, for their unconditional support to Cuba, especially in demanding the lifting of the U.S. blockade and the removal of Cuba from the List of State Sponsors of Terrorism at various international forums.
