The Canadian Network of Solidarity with Cuba, together with the CCFA-Toronto, the Network of Solidarity with Latin America and the Caribbean and the Association of Cubans Juan Gualberto Gómez, celebrated the 66th Anniversary of the Triumph of our Revolution.
During the activity, messages of solidarity were conveyed to the Cuban people and government, the U.S. blockade against the island was condemned, the exclusion of our country from the arbitrary list of countries sponsoring terrorism was demanded, the internationalist and solidarity spirit of our Revolution was recognized, and a well-deserved tribute was paid to the beloved intellectual and professor Keith Ellis, who worked throughout his life to expand and strengthen the cultural ties between Cuban and Canadian peoples.
The Consul General in Toronto, Jorge Yanier Castellanos Orta, thanked those present for all the messages of love for our island; conveyed special thanks to the members of the solidarity organizations and Cuban residents for their unconditional support for Cuba. They also reaffirmed that despite the difficult economic situation facing our country, especially caused by the intensification of the genocidal U.S. blockade, our people and government will continue to strengthen our legitimate Revolution.
As a culmination of the event, those present were able to enjoy the music, culture and traditions of our nation.
