The 69th Anniversary of the assaults on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes Barracks was celebrated in Montreal.

Solidarity friends and Cubans living in Montreal went to the General Consulate of Cuba in Montreal to celebrate the 69th Anniversary of the assaults on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes Barracks. Cuban flags and 26th of July flags waved on the Boulevard Décarie, where joy and Cuban music enlivened the occasion.

In a small solemn act, words of greeting and gratitude from the Cuban Ambassador to Canada, Héctor Igarza Cabrera were projected. At the same time, the General Consul in Montreal, Susana Malmierca Benítez, stressed the historical importance of the date for Cuba, highlighted the achievements of the Revolution and thanked the constant expressions of affection and solidarity towards the Cuban Revolution coming from Montreal.

The event was highlighted by the participation of singer-songwriter Normand who delighted the guests with some of his compositions and some well-known songs.

The meeting reaffirmed that Cuba is not alone and that it has friends of unconditional support to its Revolution.
