Ambassador of Cuba holds meeting with Director of Europe and America of the Ethiopian Foreign Ministry

Addis Ababa, January 24, 2025.- The Ambassador of Cuba to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Meylin Suárez Álvarez, held a meeting with the Director of Europe and America, Ambassador, Zenebe Kebede Korcho, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia. 

The Cuban ambassador thanked the warm reception expressed by everyone in the country since her arrival. She also highlighted the honor of representing Cuba in Ethiopia, a nation that remains united to our history by strong ties of friendship and cooperation. 

Suárez thanked the government of Ethiopia for its immeasurable support for the end of the blockade of Cuba both in the African Union and in other multilateral frameworks, as well as its demand for the removal of the island from the spurious list of states that allegedly sponsor terrorism.

For his part, the Ethiopian diplomat gave a warm welcome to the Cuban ambassador, while exalting his recognition and admiration for the Cuban people. 

Kebede reaffirmed Ethiopia's absolute support for the Cuban cause, while highlighting the ties of brotherhood that unite both governments and the significance of Cuba for the Ethiopian people.

During the meeting, issues of bilateral and multilateral importance between the two countries were reviewed. 

Present at the meeting were the director of South America and the Caribbean, Demissew Kebede, the Cuban specialist in the Ethiopian Foreign Ministry, Haregwa Sahile and on the Cuban side, the third secretary, Natalys Dinza Utria.
