26 August 2025, Odisha- Ambassador of Cuba to India Juan Carlos Marsán and First Secretary Maiky Díaz Pérez paid a visit to KIIT and KISS University in the state of Odisha, responding to an invitation from their authorities.
The Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) is devoted to vocational studies and the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) comprises school, college and university. This is the first accredited tribal teaching institution in India, hosting some 80,000 students.
Cuban diplomats met with Prof. Dr. Achyuta Samanta, founder of this institution and with Dr. Debraj Pradhan, Director General of International Relations at the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT). In this occasion cooperation interests with Cuban universities were identified and participation in the University Congress 2026 was promoted.
In an extensive exchange with students and professors of the institution, the Cuban Ambassador conveyed the work of the Cuban revolution in promoting education as a right of all its citizens, while sending a warm greeting on behalf of the people of Cuba.
