Ambassador of Cuba Juan Antonio Fernández Palacios initiates his visit to Eslovenia

Ljubljana, 8 October 2018. The Ambassador of Cuba to the Republic of Slovenia, Juan Antonio Fernández Palacios held a meeting with Mr. Matej Marn, Director-General for Common Foreign and Security Policy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia, as part of his visit to the capital of this European country.

During the meeting both parties reviewed the state of the bilateral relations and the cooperation in significant themes of the multilateral agenda related to the UN field and other International Agencies.

The Cuban Ambassador took the opportunity to reiterate to the Slovenian authorities the warmest congratulations of the President of the Council of State and Ministers of the Republic of Cuba, Mr. Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez and his best wishes for successful governance when carrying out his high responsibilities, to the new Prime Minister Mr. Marjan Šarec on the occasion of his election last August.

At the same time, it was a suitable moment for the Cuban diplomat to deliver the message of congratulations sent by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Mr. Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia, Mr. Miro Cerar on the occasion of his recent appointment.

This bilateral encounter was a chance to reaffirm the good state of the diplomatic relations between Cuba and Slovenia which celebrated the 25th anniversary last year. Likewise, it was an opportunity to express the political willingness and the commitment of both Governments to continue fostering such relations.
