June 19, 2024. Cuban Ambassador to Canada Rodrigo Malmierca Díaz visited the Honorable Yves-François Blanchet, leader of the Bloc Québécois.
During the meeting, the Cuban Ambassador gave an update on the economic and social situation of our country and the effects caused by the tightening of the blockade and the arbitrary inclusion of the island on the list of state sponsors of terrorism.
Ambassador Malmierca Díaz took the opportunity to comment on the great importance of actions such as the recent petition presented before Parliament calling for the condemnation of the aforementioned hostile US policies and expressed his gratitude for the historic position of Canada, and in particular of the Quebec Bloc, in support of the Cuban people.
Also present at the meeting were the Honorable Members of Parliament Christine Normandin, Stéphane Bergeron and Gabriel Ste. Marie. On the Cuban side, Councillor Dany Tur de la Concepción was present.
