Namibia, June 28th, 2022.- Sidenio Acosta Aday, Ambassador of Cuba to Namibia, was received by Hon. Professor Peter Katjavivi, Speaker of the National Assembly of this country, at the headquarters of the legislative body.
Ambassador Acosta updated the Namibian parliamentary leader on the Cuban reality. Similarly, he denounced the effects caused to Cuba by the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States.
Speaker Katjavivi, who is a member of the SWAPO Party, the Namibian ruling party, reiterated the historic support of his political formation for Cuba and condemned US sanctions.
During the meeting, the Cuban Ambassador introduced the new Counsellor of the Diplomatic Mission, Rodolfo Ricardo Guzmán. In addition, he informed the Head of the Lower House of the Namibian Parliament that the second secretary Aldo Luis Fuentes Acosta ends his mission of more than 5 years in this African nation.
Speaker Katjavivi thanked the Ambassador for the information provided; congratulated Fuentes for the work carried out and welcomed Counsellor Ricardo Guzmán.
On the Namibian side, Simon Urirab, head of the Private Office of the Speaker of the Assembly, also participated.
