Statement from the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) | Decision of the Government of the United States of America to Remove Cuba from the List of State Sponsors of Terrorism

The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) is pleased to note the decision of the Government of the United States of America, on 14 January 2025, to issue a certification of rescission of the Republic of Cuba’s designation as a State Sponsor of Terrorism.
PHNOM PENH, October 17, 2024.- The dean of the National Institute of Physical Education and Sports of Cambodia (NIPES), Monorom Keo, will participate in the II International Convention “University, Physical Activity and Sports” UNAFID, 2024, soon to be held in the Convention Palace, in Havana from October 21 to 24.
Stockholm, February 14, 2024 - Invited by the Swedish parliamentary authorities, the Ambassador of Cuba, Alba Soto Pimentel, along with other members of the diplomatic corps, attended to the presentation of the Foreign Policy Declaration made by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Tobías Billström to the Foreign Affairs Committee and other parliamentarians, at the headquarters of the Riksdag.
Nigeria, September 2nd, 2023.- The Cuban ambassador to Nigeria, Miriam Morales Palmero, received, at the Cuban Diplomatic Mission, Mr. Adamu Idris Mohammed, head of Protocol of the Office of the Vice President of the country.
The occasion was propitious for both diplomats to review elements of common interest regarding the next Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Group 77 plus China, which will be held in Havana in mid-September, and of which Nigeria is a part. .
Nigeria, July 27th, 2023.- The Cuban designated ambassador, Miriam Morales Palmero, participated in a meeting organized by the Nigerian Council of Arts and Culture, in order to finalize the details for the 16th International Exhibition of Art and Crafts 2023, which will take place next September in Abuja, for which Cuba was invited.
Nigeria, July 21st, 2023.- On the morning of this Friday, Mrs. Miriam Morales Palmero, presented her Style Copies of the Credentials that accredit her as Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to the Federal Republic of Nigeria to the H. E. Mr. Ibrahim Zanna, Chief of Protocol of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of this Sub-Saharan African country.
Nigeria, June 21st, 2023.- Miriam Morales Palmero, designated as Cuban ambassador in Nigeria, visited the headquarters of the Nigerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to meet with Ambassador Ibrahim Zanna, chief of protocol.
The moment was propitious to address issues of common interest, essentially on the elements of the accreditation process. Both diplomats exchanged in a cordial atmosphere, reflecting the relations between Cuba and Nigeria.
Abuja, June 6th, 2023.- The Charge d'Affaires a. i. of Cuba in Nigeria, Pavel Bauzá Fusté, received Mr. Ben Okoyen, ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in Cuba.
Both diplomats addressed issues of common interest regarding the Bilateral Agenda in the interest of continuing to strengthen the ties of friendship and cooperation.
