Barbados' Prime Minister and Attorney General are sworn in, following the Barbados Labour Party's (BLP) overwhelming victory in the 2026 general election.

Both Prime Minister Mia Mottley and the new Attorney General, Wilfred Abrahams, were sworn in today, February 12, before President Jeffrey Bostic, and the rest of the Cabinet members will be sworn in next Monday, February 16, 2026. Barbados' Prime Minister Mia Mottley, leader of the Barbados Labour Party, won the Caribbean country's general elections on February 11, 2026, for the third consecutive time, again securing all 30 seats in Parliament.

Young Barbadians who will study medicine in Cuba sign the "Code of Ethics for Foreign Students."

This morning, August 8, young Barbadians Tia Zalinda Mitchell and Kwami Hashim Inniss signed the "Foreign Student Code of Ethics" as part of the scholarship process granted to them to study medicine in the Republic of Cuba. This cooperation program has been offered by our country to 159 countries around the world since 1961, allowing young foreigners to pursue undergraduate and graduate studies in various fields.

Cuban Ambassador attends the foreign policy debate in the Swedish Parliament

The occasion was propitious for both diplomats to review elements of common interest regarding the next Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Group 77 plus China, which will be held in Havana in mid-September, and of which Nigeria is a part. .
