PHNOM PENH, October 17, 2024.- The dean of the National Institute of Physical Education and Sports of Cambodia (NIPES), Monorom Keo, will participate in the II International Convention “University, Physical Activity and Sports” UNAFID, 2024, soon to be held in the Convention Palace, in Havana, from October 21 to 24.
This was confirmed during a pleasant meeting held with the Cuban ambassador to Cambodia, Milena Caridad Zaldívar Piedra, in Phonm Penh, in which members of the Embassy also attended, First Secretary Mr. Yoneski Armenteros Gutiérrez and Mr. Bunthouern Thet.
The dean of NIPES also highlighted that participation in UNAFID 2024 will also be conducive to addressing bilateral cooperation initiatives and strengthening the links between NIPES and the “Manuel Fajardo” University of Physical Culture and Sports Sciences.
Graduated from the International School of Physical Education and Sports in Cuba, Monorom Keo, is a champion of educational cooperation between Cuba and Cambodia and an active member of the friendship movement between both nations.
Monorom's visit to Cuba on behalf of the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Education, Youth and Sports of Cambodia, H.E. Dr. Hang Chun Naron, will contribute to promoting the exchange, promotion, and dissemination of experiences and research results in the academic field of physical activity and sports, one of the objectives of the event.
