Ambassador of Cuba receives representatives of the Ministry of Health of Nigeria.

Nigeria, April 21, 2022.- The Cuban ambassador to this country, Clara M. Pulido Escandell, received doctors Ngozi Azodoh and Uzoma Nwankwo, senior managers of the Nigerian Ministry of Health, at the headquarters of the Cuban diplomatic mission.

The moment was propitious to address issues of common interest, within the scope of this portfolio, of high relevance for the peoples of both nations. The Cuban diplomat referred to the state of the fight against the pandemic on the Caribbean island, of the vaccination process in the country against COVID19, above 99%, including the children's sector. He stressed that, despite the intensification of the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the US government against the Cuban people, intensified with more than 243 measures during the pandemic, Cuban scientists managed to present five vaccine candidates and three of which today became vaccines, those that have shown high quality due to the results of the completed vaccination program.

The representatives of the Nigerian Ministry of Health, were grateful to know about these elements, agreed that health continues to be an area of ​​vital importance for both countries. They were interested in the BioHabana2022 event to be held in Cuba at the end of April.

Counselor Pavel Bauzá Fusté from the Cuban embassy also participated in the meeting.
