Ambassador-designate of Cuba to Austria meets with members of the Austria-Cuba Friendship Association
Vienna, February 13, 2023. Cuba's ambassador-designate to Austria, Pablo Berti Oliva, meets with members of the Austria-Cuba Friendship Association (ÖKG). The meeting was chaired by Michael Wögerer, President of the ÖKG and its Secretary General, Hermann Pernerstorfe.
During the kind exchange, the organization's main work objectives for 2023 as well as its main challenges were discussed. The ÖKG President highlighted how, despite the effects caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the global crisis, the organization did not stop its operations and continued its work in support of Cuba.
The Cuban ambassador expressed his appreciation for ÖKG's historic commitment to his country and the Revolution. As part of the exchange, he gave an update on Cuba today and the effects of the tightening of the blockade, the financial siege on the island and the effects of the global multi-sectoral crisis.
The meeting took place at the headquarters of this organization in solidarity with our country, one of the oldest and most active in its work in defense of the Revolution and the Cuban people.
