The ambassador of the Palestinian right of return Aleida Guevara March, pays posthumous tribute to the martyrs of Al Mayadeen.
The Cuban internationalist activist, Aleida Guevara March, participated, as a special guest, in the closing ceremony in posthumous homage to the journalist Farah Omar and the cameraman Rabih Maamari, the martyrs of Al Mayedeen, as well as to the collaborator Hussein Aquil, killed by the Israeli army in the south of Lebanon while they were carrying out their journalistic work.
In her speech Aleida expressed her sorrow at the death of thousands of Palestinian children, reaffirmed her condemnation of the Israeli cruelty that acts with impunity under the protection of the United States and its Western allies and questioned the inefficiency of the United Nations and international organizations that are incapable of guaranteeing the right to freedom and sovereignty of the peoples.
Former Egyptian presidential candidate and Secretary General of the Arab National Conference Hamdeen Sabahi, Palestinian activist Leila Khaled, Lebanese Minister of Information Ziad Makari and Farah's father, Hisham Omar, also spoke.
The closing remarks were made by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Mayadeen, Ghassan Ben Jeddou, who also thanked the Lebanese government for filing a complaint before the United Nations against "Israel" for the murder of the correspondents and reaffirmed that Al Mayadeen will continue to honor its martyrs, defending the truth and the Palestinian cause.
During and at the end of the emotional ceremony, Ambassador Jorge Leon Cruz held exchanges with labor ministers, representatives of political forces and other executives, as well as friends of solidarity in which Cuba's historical support to the Palestinian cause was made clear.
The emotional ceremony was attended by hundreds of leaders and members of political forces, religious, internationalists and communicators who paid posthumous tribute to the martyrs of the pan-Arab channel Al Mayadeen and the Palestinian people.
