Book on Fidel Unveiled in Lebanese Cities to Mark the Centennial of His Birth

On August 28 and 29, in the cities of Tyre and Tripoli, in southern and northern Lebanon, respectively, two events were held to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, attended by top officials from the city governments and municipal councils, as well as other prominent figures from the arts and intellectual circles.

In tribute to the 100th anniversary of the birth of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, the “Fidel Castro: Legacy and Future” Forum was held at the Barzakh Library and Cultural Space in downtown Beirut, where the book *Socialism and Man in Cuba*, by leaders Fidel Castro and Che Guevara, was presented.

Fidel Lives in Lebanon 100 Years After His Birth

At the Cuban Embassy in Lebanon, the Cuban community and the Associations of Friendship and Solidarity with Cuba held a moving ceremony to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, whose living presence endures forever in Lebanon and throughout the world.

The ceremony began with the screening of videos of speeches by Fidel which, as Ambassador Jorge P. León Cruz emphasized, demonstrate the enduring relevance of his ideas, his work, and his legacy.

León Cruz and the president of the Lebanese-Cuban Friendship Association (AALC), Maurice Nohra, appeared on July 29, 2026, for over an hour on the Lebanese national radio program “The Voice of the People,” during which they highlighted the celebrations commemorating the 73rd anniversary of the assault on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks on July 26, 1953.
