Cuba attends Mass for Saint Maron's Day in Lebanon

Ambassador Jorge P. León Cruz accepted an invitation to participate, along with other accredited diplomats, in the Mass of Saint Maron, celebrated by Maronite Patriarch Bechara Rai at Saint George's Cathedral in downtown Beirut, which was attended by President Joseph Aoun, Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri, and other dignitaries.

With the participation of a large group of Arab and Palestinian national and intellectual leaders, an Arab Solidarity Meeting with the Palestinian people was held to commemorate the 57th anniversary of the founding of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine.

An event in solidarity with Cuba and Venezuela, entitled “From Lebanon to Latin America: Together against US-Zionist aggression,” was held at the headquarters of the Lebanese Communist Party (LCP).

The event was presided over by Hanna Gharib, secretary general of the LCP, Jorge P. León Cruz, Cuban ambassador, and José Biomorgi, Venezuelan ambassador, who were the main speakers at the event.

The president of the Lebanese-Cuban Friendship Association, Maurice Nohra, sent Cuban Ambassador Jorge P. León Cruz, a message of support for the Cuban people in which he states that "after 64 years of economic blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba and its people, the Trump administration's decisions to tighten the embargo by imposing tariffs on any entity that sells oil to Cuba constitute an escalation equivalent to war, aimed at suffocating the Cuban people.
