Cuba sends congratulatory message to Lebanon
The President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz Canel Bermúdez, sent a message of congratulations to General Joseph Aoun, on his election as President of the Lebanese Republic, and took the opportunity to confirm the willingness to continue working for the strengthening of bilateral ties between Cuba and Lebanon.

The National Federation of Trade Unions of Workers and Employees of Lebanon (FENASOL) expresses its warm congratulations to the Cuban leadership and the Cuban working class through the Cuban Embassy in Lebanon for the victory over U.S. imperialism in its aggressive practices against Cuba and its people.
We extend our warm congratulations and solidarity for the removal of Cuba from the list of countries that sponsor terrorism according to the pretensions of U.S. imperialism.
The United States takes steps in the right direction, but the blockade remains in force.
Declaration of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba
On January 14, 2025, the government of the United States announced the following decisions:
1. Remove Cuba from the State Department list of countries that allegedly sponsor terrorism;
2. Make use of the presidential faculty to prevent US courts from taking action with regards to lawsuits that might be filed by virtue of Title III of the Helms-Burton Act; and
In the spirit of the Ordinary Jubilee of the Year 2025, the Cuban Government releases persons who are serving prison sentences.
