Vienna, March 7.—The Austrian Labor Party (PdA) and its youth organization, Jugendfront, reaffirmed their support for Cuba at a solidarity event held at the Jura Soyfer Political Center in Vienna.
The event, which brought together dozens of participants, centered on a speech by the Cuban Ambassador to Austria, Pablo Berti Oliva, and allowed those present to learn firsthand about the reality facing the Cuban people following the intensification of the blockade under the new Executive Order issued by the U.S. president.
During his speech, Ambassador Berti Oliva offered a detailed analysis of the current situation in Cuba. The diplomat strongly denounced the violation of international law and the principles of the United Nations Charter that the new coercive measures against the country constitute, as well as their impact on vital sectors such as public health, transportation, and food production.
Likewise, the Ambassador highlighted the Cuban government’s efforts to address the difficulties generated by this complex situation and to advance solutions that guarantee the well-being of the people, despite the growing limitations imposed by the blockade.
Addressing the supportive friends present at the event, he emphasized the crucial importance of international solidarity and advocacy efforts as fundamental tools for countering Washington’s hostile policy and bringing the truth about Cuba to light.
Likewise, the President of the Austria-Cuba Friendship Association (ÖKG) explained the work they carry out in support of Cuba and called on those present to join in solidarity actions.
At the conclusion of the event, the leadership of the PdA and Jungendfront reiterated their deep commitment to the Cuban cause, their support for the Revolution, and their willingness to continue promoting solidarity actions for the benefit of the people of the island.
