The Austrian Ministry of Justice donates computer equipment to Cuba for the modernization of the public registry system

Vienna, 3 September 2019. In the framework of the excellent relations of exchange and cooperation maintained between the Ministries of Justice of Austria and Cuba in recent years, the European country has sent a donation of one hundred computers and monitors and 40 printers for the computerization and modernization of Cuba´s public registries.

This action has been preceded by the exchange of visits between both Ministers during this year: in March, the visit to Vienna of the Minister of Justice of Cuba, Dr. Oscar Manuel Silvera Martínez and in April, the visit to Cuba of Dr. Josef Moser, then Federal Minister of Constitutional Affairs, Reforms, Deregulation and Justice of Austria.

A Memorandum of Understanding signed in December 2015 and  renewed in 2019, is in force between both Ministries, through which delegations of experts and authorities have been exchanged during years 2017, 2018, and 2019, that have allowed receiving in Cuba the experiences of Austria regarding the development of computerization systems of public registries.

Austria´s gesture of solidarity towards Cuba is complemented by the support offered by "ÖKG", the Austria-Cuba Friendship Association which paid for the donation to be sent by sea and the logistical support of the Museum of Finest Cuban Art in Vienna.
