Baku, Jul 13, 2020.- Azerbaijani authorities welcomed at Heydar Aliyev international airport a team of 115 health specialists from the Henry Reeve Cuban medical brigade, who will collaborate in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
Cuban ambassador to Azerbaijan Alfredo Nieves Portuondo together with senior executives from the Ministry of Health and the Emergency Ministry of the country, went to the air terminal to welcome the Cuban doctors.
The ambassador highlighted the humanism and professionalism of all the members of the brigade and stressed that this new mission brings to 35 the number of countries Cuba is present in, in the Caribbean, Central America, Europe, South America, Africa and the Middle East.
During the reception, it was stressed that collaboration and solidarity are essential at these times.
Dalsy Torres, chief of the contingent,indicated that it is made up of 67 men and 49 women, of whom 57 are doctors and 55 nurses.
