Turin grants honorary citizenship to head of Cuban medical brigade

Rome, Jul 14, 2020.- The Municipal Council of Turin granted the honorary citizenship of that city in the region of Piedmont to Dr. Julio Guerra, head of the Cuban medical brigade that helped fight Covid-19 there. The president of the municipal body for control and political and administrative affairs, Francisco Sicari, and Mayoress Chiara Appendino, chaired the ceremony to grant the honorary title in the presence of other authorities and representatives of local institutions and organizations.

Azerbaijan receives members of the Henry Reeve medical brigade

Baku, Jul 13, 2020.- Azerbaijani authorities welcomed at Heydar Aliyev international airport a team of 115 health specialists from the Henry Reeve Cuban medical brigade, who will collaborate in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.

Cuban ambassador to Azerbaijan Alfredo Nieves Portuondo together with senior executives from the Ministry of Health and the Emergency Ministry of the country, went to the air terminal to welcome the Cuban doctors.

Cuban doctors treat the most serious Covid-19 cases in Haiti

Port-au-Prince, jul 12, 2020.- Cuban health professionals have been helping to fight Covid-19 in Haiti since April, and so far they have attended some of the most complex cases of the disease that plagues the country today.

Cuba reports seven new cases of COVID-19 over the past 24 hours

Havana, July 1, 2020-- The National Director of Epidemiology of the Cuban Ministry of Public Health, Dr. Francisco Duran, reported that there were seven new cases detected of COVID-19, for a total of 2,348 positive cases across the island.

During his daily press briefing held Wednesday morning, Dr. Duran said that over the past 24 hours -- up to 12 midnight Tuesdy night -- fortunately, no patients died from the coronavirus. A total of 86 patients have died in Cuba over the past several months.

The Minister of Health of Andorra praises the work of the Cuban medical brigade

Andorra La Vieja, July 1, 2020 -- The Minister of Health of Andorra, Joan Martínez Benazet, has praised the work of the Cuban medical brigade that worked for three months in this European country in the fight against the SARS-Cov-2 coronavirus and returns this Wednesday to the Caribbean nation.

"It has been a luxury to have the Cuban medical brigade in Andorra," the minister stressed in a video sent to Prensa Latina news agency from the Panorama Hotel, which served as the home 39 health professionals from the largest of the Antilles.
